Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd was incorporated under the Companies Act in Nepal on 22 December 2014, as the successor to the earlier “Insurance Pool” set up in Nepal.

The “Insurance Pool” had been formed around 2003 A.D. (2060 B.S.) during the insurgency period (to cover riot, sabotage, terrorism, malicious damage) and was later converted into a full‐fledged reinsurer.

It operates in Nepal with both treaty reinsurance (bulk contracts between insurer & reinsurer) and facultative reinsurance (single risk placements) across both life and non‐life segments.

It is listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) (so public shareholders can participate).
