Rastriya Beema Company Limited

• RBCL is a non‐life (general) insurance company in Nepal, owned by the Government of Nepal. 

• Its roots go back to the earlier entity Rastriya Beema Sansthan (RBS), which was established under the Rastriya Beema Sansthan Act, 2025 B.S. (1968 A.D.). 

• RBCL in its current form was incorporated on Jestha 28, 2071 B.S. (11 June 2014 A.D) under the Companies Act, following separation of life & non‐life business as required by the insurance law. 

• It obtained its non-life insurance license on Asar 27, 2071 B.S., and started operations from Shrawan 18, 2071 B.S. (approx August 2014) for the non-life segment.

Business Scope & Services

• RBCL offers a broad range of non-life insurance products. On their website they list: motor insurance, marine & cargo insurance, engineering insurance, agriculture & livestock insurance, property insurance, medical aid insurance, aviation insurance. 

• Its clientele includes government ministries, agencies, public institutions, private businesses, and individual policyholders. 

• The company emphasises its role in mobilising internal resources, managing financial risks of assets & property, and reducing foreign currency outflow by providing domestic insurance coverage.
