Position Summary

As the Senior Manager/ AGM- Mines Operation, you will be at the forefront of seamlessly integrating administrative and operational functions within our limestone mines. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, you will bear the responsibility of ensuring optimal resource utilization, regulatory compliance, and fostering positive stakeholder relationships across various domains. Additionally, you will serve as the Manager of Government Relations (GR), Employee Relations (ER), and Public Relations (PR), shaping the company's image and interactions with external entities.

Major Roles And Responsibilities (Job Details)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mines Operations Oversight:
    • Take ownership of all facets of limestone mining operations, from overseeing the cost of production to ensuring the meticulous implementation of mining protocols.
    • Monitor and analyze expenses related to heavy earth-moving machinery, commercial vehicles along with expenses on their spare and consumables, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency enhancement.
    • Spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing mining efficiency and productivity while upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship.
    • Cultivate positive relationships with local governmental bodies, political entities, and community stakeholders to garner support for mining operations and address any concerns in a timely manner.
  2. Transportation and Logistics Management:
    • Exercise strategic oversight over the transportation of limestone from mines to the factory, adeptly navigating through any concerns posed by local stakeholders and community relations.
    • Implement robust systems for monitoring transportation routes and road conditions, ensuring the seamless flow of logistics and minimizing operational disruptions.
    • Work closely with the Logistic Department to optimize transportation processes, streamline logistics operations, and mitigate potential bottlenecks.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing stakeholder concerns, whether they emanate from local communities, governmental agencies, or internal departments.
    • Lead by example in championing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at fostering community development and enhancing the company's reputation.
    • Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders, proactively addressing issues as they arise to foster a culture of trust and collaboration.
  4. Government Relations (GR), Employee Relations (ER), and Public Relations (PR) Management :
    • Develop and execute strategies to cultivate positive relationships with governmental bodies, regulatory authorities, and relevant stakeholders to safeguard the company's interests and facilitate smooth operations.
    • Oversee employee relations initiatives, ensuring fair treatment, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work culture conducive to employee satisfaction and productivity.
    • Shape the company's public image and reputation through effective communication strategies, media relations, and community engagement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of  7 to 10 years of progressive experience in senior management roles within the mining industry, demonstrating a strong track record of effectively managing operational and administrative functions of mines along with the technical knowledge regarding limestone production.
  • Thorough understanding of mining operations, encompassing cost management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
