Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Administrator for Hardware and Networks to join our IT team. As a key point of contact for all IT-related issues requiring physical attendance, you will ensure the availability and reliability of critical systems, provide technical support, and optimize IT infrastructure. This role involves collaboration with central IT teams, handling incidents, managing resources, and implementing robust security measures to maintain system efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary Contact for IT Support:
- Act as the main point of contact for central IT (helpdesk, infrastructure, and management) for issues requiring physical presence.
- Ensure the availability of key local services and resolve escalations efficiently.
- Incident Management:
- Receive and address incidents or requests logged by the Service Desk.
- Supplement the helpdesk team by providing remote support and implementing fixes.
- Hardware & Network Configuration:
- Configure and provision new hardware, including workstations, servers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot network issues, patch cabling, and maintain connectivity with minimal disruptions.
- CCTV and Access Control: Configuration, Maintenance and Troubleshooting, Data Management, Data Management, Security Compliance, Collaboration and Support.
- System Administration:
- Administer and maintain on-premises servers (Windows, Linux).
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Configure VPNs for secure remote access and monitor server performance.
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies (e.g, VMware, Hyper-V) for efficient resource utilization and server consolidation.
- IT Asset & Consumables Management:
- Track, manage, and update IT assets within the ITSM tool.
- Monitor and maintain local consumable stocks.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and monitor security policies, including antivirus and SIEM tools.
- Perform regular data backups and ensure efficient restores.
- In-house Support:
- Maintain a high degree of in-house service support for all on-site and remote queries.
- Publish solutions in the ITSM system to promote knowledge sharing and proactive problem-solving.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with central IT teams and escalate issues to ensure SLA compliance.
- Liaise with third-party vendors to meet SLA standards and escalate where necessary.
- Project Support:
- Provide support for IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Documentation & Training:
- Document technical procedures and solutions.
- Train end-users on new systems and software as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/ IT/CSIT/Information Management
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and security protocols (Office 365, Windows/Linux, Server, Azure AD, Routing, Switching, LAN/WAN, Firewalls,) Windows/Linux troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent experience.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Adaptability to handle a variety of tasks and software tools in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of ChromeOS, G Suite, and Microsoft 365 administration, mac, Linux and windows
- Experience with backup systems, database optimization and server health checks.
