Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Accounting Tasks:
  • Record and manage all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
  1. VAT Submission:
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with Nepalese tax regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT reports to the tax authorities.
  • Monitor VAT-related transactions and documentation to ensure compliance.
  1. Tax Compliance:
  • Stay updated on current Nepalese tax laws and regulations to ensure adherence.
  • Prepare and submit other tax-related documents as required by the government.
  • Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  1. Record Keeping and Documentation:
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all financial transactions and documents.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all transactions, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
  1. Account Reconciliation:
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Verify and reconcile supplier and customer statements.
  1. Internal Controls:
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Review and improve accounting processes and procedures.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
  • Provide financial advice and support to management as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Experience:
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
  • Experience with VAT submissions and compliance with Nepalese tax regulations.
  1. Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations in Nepal.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
  1. Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
  1. Communication:
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with tax authorities, management, and other departments.
  1. Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is a plus.
  1. Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficiency in Tally or any accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
