Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily Accounting Tasks:
- Record and manage all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- VAT Submission:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with Nepalese tax regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT reports to the tax authorities.
- Monitor VAT-related transactions and documentation to ensure compliance.
- Tax Compliance:
- Stay updated on current Nepalese tax laws and regulations to ensure adherence.
- Prepare and submit other tax-related documents as required by the government.
- Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all financial transactions and documents.
- Ensure proper documentation for all transactions, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Verify and reconcile supplier and customer statements.
- Internal Controls:
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Review and improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
- Provide financial advice and support to management as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience:
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Experience with VAT submissions and compliance with Nepalese tax regulations.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations in Nepal.
- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
- Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
- Communication:
- Effective communication skills for interacting with tax authorities, management, and other departments.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Tally or any accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
