Key Responsibilities of Assistant Finance Manager
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements aligned with NFRS.
- Perform variance analysis comparing budget vs actual project expenses.
- Support Finance Manager in generating internal and board-level reports.
- Ensure timely submission of tax filings (VAT, TDS, Income Tax).
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets for corporate and project-level activities.
- Monitor ongoing construction project budgets and flag overruns.
- Prepare financial forecasts and assist in profitability planning.
Project-Based Cost Accounting
- Maintain project-wise ledgers for large-scale hydropower and road construction projects.
- Reconcile contractor bills, material issuance, and site financial statements.
- Verify project progress payments and coordinate with site engineers.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily cash flow requirements and bank balances.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
- Support fund transfers between site accounts and head office as needed.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors during audits.
- Implement internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies or fraud.
- Ensure documentation of all project and administrative expenses.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare VAT, TDS, and income tax calculations as per Nepalese tax regulations.
- Assist in resolving tax office queries and conducting tax reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with Department of Industry (DOI), IRD, and other regulators.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee timely vendor invoice processing and staff reimbursements.
- Monitor collection schedules from clients, government contracts, or JV partners.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts (especially in cross-border ventures or JVs).
ERP and Software Support
- Operate and maintain financial records in Tally or ERP software.
- Assist in digitizing financial workflows and reports.
- Coordinate with the IT team for data accuracy in finance modules.
Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Procurement, and HR for financial decisions.
- Liaise with banks for LC management, salary disbursement, and bank guarantees.
- Provide inputs in financial decision-making for new tenders and bidding processes.
